About Us

Our Mission

The mission of the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Social Work Program is to prepare undergraduate students in beginning generalist social work practice with diverse people and systems in a wide variety of settings and contexts. Specifically, emphasis is placed upon the development of skills, ethics and knowledge required of bachelor's-level practitioners. Additionally, the program emphasizes an underlying value of service to individuals, families, groups, communities, organizations and institutions. Graduates of the Social Work Program are charged with a commitment to the development of human well-being and to the alleviation of poverty and oppression.

Student Perspectives

Isaac Curtis

Class of 2017

“While finishing my generals, I took an intro to social work class and realized that it was what I wanted to do. I have met some of the most incredible people along the way.”

Danielle Nelson

Class of 2017

“I started at Weber in 2011 with the hopes of becoming a wedding planner. Along the way, I fell in love with social work, where I became passionate about people, particularly the underdog.”
