Heidee Miller, LCSW, MSW earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a minor in Gerontology at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ (Ogden, UT) in 2014. Following her undergraduate studies, she went on to earn her Master of Social Work Degree with a concentration in aging from the University of Utah (SLC,UT) in 2016. Heidee has spent around a decade working within skilled nursing facilities as a social worker. It was here that she gained substantial practice and skill development in bio-psycho-cultural-social-spiritual assessments, cognitive assessments, cognitive behavioral therapy, crisis intervention, grief, loss, and bereavement, mindfulness, reminiscing, and end of life treatment. Heidee has a great passion for the aging population and specifically enjoys working with individuals living with dementia the most. For a time in 2020, she worked at a local non-profit transitional housing agency for homeless veterans where she provided therapy and clinical case management. During this time, Heidee also worked as a consultant for social services at a local nursing home. In 2021 she accepted a position as an Instructor and Director of Graduate Social Work Field Education at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ. Heidee is currently a PhD student in Social Work at Baylor University (Waco, TX) and anticipates graduating in 2027. Her current research interests involve those living with dementia in long-term care settings and how administration perceives spirituality as a need for these individuals. Heidee maintains her LCSW license and continues to specialize in social work with the aging population residing in long-term care settings.
