Parents, Caregivers and Other Wildcat Supporters
You’ve likely played a central role in managing your student’s healthcare needs up to now. It can be hard – for both of you – as they learn to manage them on their own. We believe that this is an important skill for our students to learn – and we’re here to support them!
You can support them in developing this new aspect of their independence by:
- Encouraging them to get regular preventive care
- Pointing them in the right direction for care or information
- Continuing to be a source of support and good advice
- Expressing your confidence in them
Please be aware that any information we have about your student is protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Please encourage your student to contact us directly with their questions and concerns.
For more information on how to support your student as they transition to adulthood, visit the Counseling and Psychological Services Center’s Resources for Parents page.

You will be asked to complete a records request form. You may complete this in advance and email it with your records request (recommended) or fill it out in person. Please bring valid ID with you to verify your identity.
