Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies - Child & Family Studies
The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) is an interdisciplinary degree that allows you to select 3 areas or emphases and develop a contract of courses with the departments of your choice. A final capstone project is required, which brings together the 3 areas of emphases.
An emphasis in child and family studies provides you with knowledge of family relations and child growth and development.
Why Choose a BIS?
What You Will Learn
You will acquire a respect for diversity and the ability to create environments that enhance the lives and healthy development of children, adults and families over the life span.
Addressing the holistic needs of children and their families, the curriculum provides you with a thorough understanding of family relations, child growth and development, interpersonal relations, resource management and family finance.
Requirements
For a child and family studies emphasis, a minimum of 18 credit hours are required (CHF 1500 & CHF 2400 required). Two courses must be upper division (3000 level or higher).
