Scholarships

The Department of Child & Family Studies offers various departmental scholarships each year.

To be eligible, you must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Declare your major in child and family studies
  • Fill out the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Specialized Scholarship Application (Scholarship Universe) online which links to internal (91¶ÌÊÓƵ) and external scholarships
    • answer as many questions as possible to increase chances of matching scholarships
    • Questions for 91¶ÌÊÓƵ scholarships will have an *; hovering over the ? icon will show text that will let you know it's for 91¶ÌÊÓƵ
  • Apply to Scholarship Matches (some scholarships may require submitting additional information such as a resume, writing an easy, etc.
  • Complete the
  • Meet qualifications for one or more available scholarships

To see if you have been awarded a scholarship go into ScholarshipUniverse to see Awards. If you had been awarded a scholarship that requires an additional step, it will appear under "Outstanding"; otherwise, all awards will be under "Awards".  

The 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Financial Aid Office will notify students if they are a recipient of a Child and Family Scholarship in the student's Financial Aid Award package.

T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood UTAH Scholarship 

The T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood UTAH Scholarship Program came to Utah in spring 2016.  The program is administered through the (UAEYC).  All recipients must currently be employed as a center directors, teachers or family care providers and sponsored by their employer to participate. The scholarship covers 80% of the cost of tuition and books. Recipients pay application fees and are responsible for 10% of the costs. The employer commits to pay 10% of tuition each semester the recipient is enrolled in class. If the recipient is a classroom teacher, sponsors also commit to pay three hours of released time per week of the 16 week semester. T.E.A.C.H. reimburses the sponsoring employer for $4.50/hour paid. Sponsors also commit to pay the recipient a raise or bonus following the completion of each educational contract year.

The vision of the T.E.A.C.H. Advisory Committee is to "Establish a robust, statewide T.E.A.C.H. program to elevate the field of ECE throughout Utah."

Department of Workforce Services Scholarships - The Deadline is May 31, 2024.

The Early Education Pay Back Program provides reimbursement for up to $3500 per semester to those who are majoring in the early childhood field (early childhood education, elementary education, child development, early childhood special education). Students must be working at least 15 hours in a DWS Eligible program licensed by the during the semester.

The Career Ladder Approved College Course Scholarships, students can earn up to $750 per  for up to 12 credit hours/semester as a reimbursement payment and is available for those who

The Conference Registration Scholarships students can earn up to $500 per year as a reimbursement payment for attending a conference in the early childhood field that meet the requirements of a  on the Career Ladder and are available for those who are working at least 15 hours/week in a DWS Eligible program .
