- We have a 100% acceptance rate for six consecutive years (2008–2014) for family studies students who have pursued graduate studies in marriage and family therapy (MFT). All students have been admitted to MFT programs accredited through the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
- Our family studies curriculum includes Family Systems Theory, the basis for many MFT graduate programs. Frequently, our graduates tell us they are exceptionally prepared in systems theory for their graduate courses.
- You can become certified as a family life educator through the National Council on Family Relations, which will benefit you in careers working with families.
- You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty in research opportunities, which will provide great experience for graduate school. Students work with faculty on research projects, present research at professional conferences and pursue publication of their research. Several of our students have won national awards for their research.
