Important Update: Audition-Based Programs
Starting in the 2025-2026 academic year, students wishing to pursue a degree in Musical Theatre or Acting/Directing must audition and be accepted into these programs. This change does not affect other Theatre degrees.
To become a major in Musical Theatre or Acting/Directing or to be considered for Theatre-specific scholarships, you must audition or interview.
How to Apply:
• Option 1: Attend one of the in-person auditions listed above.
• Option 2: Submit a virtual audition/interview. 馃憠

Virtual Auditions & Deadlines
If you cannot attend an in-person audition, submit your virtual audition by: Friday, November 1, 2024, at 11:59 pm. 馃摜
Note: If you are participating in the Utah Unified Auditions, you do not need to submit materials via our website. Our faculty will attend this event.

Audition Requirements
Musical Theatre
Prepare to upload:
• Current resume
• Headshot
• Video with one of the following options:
1. Two contrasting songs (1-minute max each) AND one contemporary monologue (1-minute max).
2. One song (1-minute max), one contemporary monologue (1-minute max), and one dance piece (1-minute max).
Acting/Directing
Prepare to upload:
• Current resume
• Headshot
• Two contrasting monologues (1-minute max each)
Design/Technical/Management
Prepare to upload:
• Current resume
• Photo
• A video including:
• A brief introduction of yourself
• A PowerPoint or Google Slides portfolio narrated by you (3-minute max)
Theatre Teaching
Prepare to upload:
• Current resume
• Photo
• A video including:
• A brief introduction of yourself
• A PowerPoint or Google Slides portfolio narrated by you (3-minute max)
Playwriting/Dramaturgy/Scholars
Prepare to upload:
• Current resume
• Photo
• Writing sample (not to exceed 10 pages)
• A video including:
• A brief introduction of yourself
• A PowerPoint or Google Slides portfolio narrated by you (3-minute max)
