By William Shakespeare
Mischief, madness, and romance are in the air this fall when Weber state university presents William Shakespeare’s rollicking comedy 'Twelfth Night'. Shipwrecked on the coast of Illyria and fearing that her brother Sebastian is drowned, Viola must disguise herself as a man. She falls in love with the neighboring Duke Orsino who loves the lady Olivia, who loves the disguised Viola, but false appearances are the norm on this island of Misrule, where the fool is king, the court jester is the philosopher and hijinks among the servants are wickedly delicious.
Considered one of Shakespeare’s finest comedies, it rivals his others in character development and plot sophistication. A play about infatuation and the outrageous things it causes us to do, 'Twelfth Night' makes use of illusion, deception, disguise and even a mixture of madness.

By the Students of the Directing II Course
'Innovation Theatre' is the brainchild of theatre professor, Tracy Callahan and is all about students creating work from an established source as in Hip Hop Romeo and Juliet, Lest We Forget, a devised piece centered on the life of Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, and Triangle a piece that was inspired from the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. Each student director researches an idea they believe will create strong theatre and enlists an ensemble of student actors and designers to help them devise the story through song, movement, and unique storytelling. The process is one of collaboration and ensemble discovery.
