Network Management Technology

Why did you choose 91¶ÌÊÓƵ?

I'd like to say it was because I knew that Weber's ROI (return on investment) is the highest in that State of Utah. But honestly, it was because I lived in North Ogden at the time. However, I am so glad I came to Weber State because I got a small school feel and individual attention from my professors while getting to enjoy all that a D1 school has to offer (Football, Basketball, NCA Cheerleading National Champions, etc.)

Why did you Network management technology?

Originally I declared Computer Science as my major because I have wanted to learn to code for a few years. Then I looked at the GradMap for CS and realized that Computer Science majors can double major in Math if they take just two more classes (at least they could, I haven't looked at recent course catalogs). No thank you! I don't like Math that much. So I talked with my dad and brother who are both in the tech industry and we decided that Network Management Technology had the right mix of classes to make me an attractive hire for employers. I even got to learn how to code (somewhat) because the NMT BS includes all the classes required for a CS minor except for one. So you can get a minor in Computer Science by just taking ONE MORE class!

What advice would you offer other students?

Where are you now?

I am working at a large data center in south Salt Lake County. I don't work directly for the company whose location I am at so I am barred by an NDA from naming it. But let's just say that I "won my bid" to work here. My degree has opened so many doors to me. I get at least 3-5 recruiting emails in my inbox every week and if I wasn't tied to the SLC area I could have accepted an offer that would have paid me 6 figures before I even graduated.
