Automotive Technician & CNG/Propane Upfitter - American CNG
Automotive Technology
Location: Layton, UT Job
Work Hours: 40-hour work week; Hours are generally 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended weekday
hours as needed and occasional weekends
OTE: $65,000.00 (mix of salary and variable comp)
Responsibilities:
- Be available for up to 12-hour shifts based on conversion schedules
- Maintain clean work areas and operate within a shop setting
- Handle heavy loads exceeding 50 lbs efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Convert vehicles from gasoline to CNG and/or propane, including low-pressure and
high-pressure systems, wiring, stainless steel tubing, etc.
- Upfit vehicles with CNG and/or propane systems, involving modifications to exhaust, wiring
adjustments, bracket relocation, etc.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of conversions and provide daily reports to the
manager
- Conduct Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) checks to ensure accurate
installations
- Support management in increasing efficiency in CNG and/or propane conversions
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment among coworkers and adhere to guidelines
outlined in the Employee Handbook
Qualifications:
- Experience in automotive or mechanical work preferred
- Knowledge of CNG and propane systems and conversions is a plus but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- American CNG will supply specialty tools like pipe benders, pipe cutters, welders, etc.
However, technicians and mechanics must bring their tools for vehicle conversions.
