Computer Engineering
Why did you choose 91¶ÌÊÓƵ?
I chose Weber because they had an Engineering Program and because they had a cross-country team that I could run for. Other great qualities of Weber are the personal teachers, the small class sizes, and the emphasis on learning over research.
Why did you choose Computer engineering?
I chose Computer Engineering because it is an amazing blend of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. In any electrical device, there is hardware and software. Computer Engineering majors are set up perfectly to diagnose and solve issues from both sides of these problems. I love being able to hop between roles of hardware and software and my major grants me the knowledge and freedom to do so.
What advice would you offer other students?
When classes get hard, remember why you are doing this. Everyone will have different motivations, but keep yours in mind. Also, remember that failure is part of the journey to success. As Winston Churchill once said, "Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm." If you can keep your enthusiasm through failure, you will do great things.
Where are you now?
I work on medical devices as a Firmware Engineer. Currently, I am working for a company called Advanced Conceptions. We are making a home PCR COVID Test. PCR tests are incredibly accurate, and usually are done in a lab due to their high sensitivity. Making a test that can be used at home by a normal person is both challenging and rewarding.
