High Impact Educational Experiences (HIEEs)
High impact educational experiences (HIEEs) at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ promote student learning through curricular and co-curricular activities that foster active and integrative student engagement. You can find HIEEs through different attributes on courses and experiences.
A critical component of each HIEE is the invaluable opportunity for each participant to…
- Reflect on what was learned during the experience
- Engage in meaningful interactions with faculty, staff, and peers
- Interact with many different people and circumstances
- Demonstrate learned and developed competence
The Wildcat Advantage program helps undergraduate and graduate students get involved in HIEEs and be rewarded for participation in at least two before graduation. Undergraduate students can earn up to $1,500 by participating in the HIEEs Pay program, earning a colorful braided graduation cord.
They can then demonstrate their skills in an ePortfolio to prepare for future success and stand out to employers.
HIEE Benefits
HIEEs contribute to teaching and learning in ways that capture the imaginations of students, faculty, and staff alike. They actively engage students in the learning process. Ultimately, HIEEs prepare undergraduate and graduate students for success inside and outside the classroom by developing career competencies defined by the that help them succeed while pursuing their academic, career, and personal goals.
