GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS 
Master of Science in Athletic Training

 DEPARTMENTAL SCHOLARSHIPS 


  • MSAT Distinguished Student Scholar Award


    This scholarship is $1,000 per year for each year in the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program, and is awarded to incoming students who demonstrate academic excellence. This scholarship is awarded to new, incoming MSAT students and is available to Utah residents, non-residents, and international students.

    There is no formal application for this scholarship. Applicants are evaluated based on the academic information submitted with their MSAT application through ATCAS.


     

  • Tuition Scholarships for Non-Residents


    Students who are not Utah residents are eligible to be considered for a partial-tuition scholarship that will cover the out-of-state portion of tuition. Students must have a 3.2 GPA to be eligible, however, students with above-average GRE scores, a 3.2 GPA in the last 60 credit hours and/or an outstanding application will also be considered. For the 2022-23 academic year, these scholarships were approximately $11,763 per year.

    All non-residents (including international students) who are accepted to the MSAT program will be considered for this scholarship. The award notification will be included in the student's program acceptance letter.

  • Tuition Scholarships for Utah Residents


    Open to returning students who are Utah residents only.

    Apply by completing the online  through your eWeber portal. Be sure to complete the Specialized Scholarship Application.

    You do NOT need to complete any of the essays to be considered for this scholarship. These are awarded based on the students' overall graduate GPA, following completion of their first year of the MSAT program. The amount of this scholarship varies each year, but is approximately $1,000.

     

  • GATSO President Scholarship


    Open to returning students only.

    Apply by completing the online  through your eWeber portal. 

    You must also complete the MSAT scholarship application and email it to the MSAT Program Director by the deadline. All students will receive notification when applications are being accepted and when they are due. This scholarship is awarded to a graduate student chosen by the faculty to serve as the President of the Graduate Athletic Training Student Organization. The amount of this scholarship varies each year, but is approximately $1,000-2,000.


PRIVATE SCHOLARSHIPS 


  • National Athletic Trainers Association Scholarships (NATA)


    You must be a member of the NATA by November in the PREVIOUS year before you apply for scholarships. These scholarships are typically $2,300 to help cover the cost of tuition in the second year of the MSAT program.

  • Big Sky Athletic Training
    Scholarship


    Due in May of each year, this scholarship is open to athletic training students who are attending a program at a university within the Big Sky Conference.

  • Bobby Gunn Student Leadership
    Award


    For undergraduate and/or entry-level master’s students, this award is for a student to be able to attend the NATA National convention for the first time. You must be an NATA member. Due April 30 of each year.

  • Professional Football Athletic Trainers' Society 


    For undergraduate or graduate ethnic minority athletic training students with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Each selected student will also have the opportunity to work an NFL Summer Training Camp. Due April 1 of each year.
